Vanuatu is a group of islands situated in the South Pacific Ocean, about 350 miles off the north east coast of Australia. The Republic of Vanuatu was founded in 1980 as it claimed independence from the UK and France.
There are around 80 islands in total with 65 of them inhabited, one of those being Tanna, situated towards the south of the archipelago.
One of Tanna’s main attraction is the active volcano, Mount Yasur, and many visitors simply fly over over the island to see it in all it’s glory on a short trip from Port Villa.
But if you get chance I would highly recommend spending some time there to meet the wonderful people that live on this unique island.
